The mirror of darkness reflects back to us the Quest for Darkness or what is often referred to as the Dark Night of the Soul. This is the time when we are forced to confront our greatest challenges and our greatest fears. Life never gives us more than we can handle. We have a choice with every challenging experience to greet it as an opportunity for growth, or to choose to be a victim to our situation. How we choose to respond will determine whether we continue to develop our spiritual qualities or sink into a state of despair and despondency. At any stage in our journey we can stay on the path to enlightenment or fall by the wayside.

This mirror teaches us to develop strength and courage in the face of loss and adversity. No one ever faces the dark night of the soul until they have amassed all the tools necessary to move through the experience, with grace. In Trust, you will allow experience to take you to the very edge of who you believe you are. If it serves you, experience will push you over the edge and leave you to find your way out, alone. This is your opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of who you have become

For many, including me, this experience forces us to let go of our ego and  seek divine help from within ourselves. Seek the light within you in any way that feels right for you. This may be through prayer, meditation, or simply asking for divine help.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
The Bible, Psalm 23:4
